US President Donald Trump wants to ensure lasting peace in the Middle East. Therefore, he has proposed that the United States take control of the Gaza Strip, stated White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, The Guardian reports.

Leavitt recalled that yesterday, February 4, Trump declared that the "bonds of friendship and affection" between the US and the Israeli people are "absolutely unbreakable."

She noted that his proposal to take control of the Gaza Strip "underscores this commitment."

According to the White House press secretary, Trump is an "outside of the box thinker" and a "visionary leader" who "solves problems that many others claim are unsolvable".
