White House grounds searched by bomb disposal teams

Bomb squad units arrived at the White House grounds following a report of a suspicious package, according to The Mirror.
Police officers cordoned off the area, restricting pedestrian and vehicle movement.
The US Secret Service confirmed that the suspicious package was located outside the security perimeter, near the US Treasury building.
After the area was inspected, it was cleared, and the roads were reopened. Washington, D.C. police have not yet commented on the incident, and it remains unclear whether the package posed an actual threat.
“Sunday, July 27, 2025, US Secret Service Uniformed Division officers immediately apprehend an individual who climbed a fence on the southeast side of the US Treasury Building,” a Secret Service spokesperson said.
It was clarified that during the incident, the suspect dropped a bag on the sidewalk near the fence. As a precaution, bomb squad units were called to the scene and later neutralized the item.
The intruder was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation. According to the Secret Service, the man will face charges, including unlawful entry.
Intrusions onto White House grounds
There have been several incidents of unlawful entry onto the White House grounds. In 2006, an unarmed man climbed over the fence. While police and security officers tried to catch him, the man ran around shouting incoherently.
In 2017, a woman was detained after also breaching the premises. She was arrested and charged with unlawful entry onto White House property.
Most recently, in June, a 23-year-old man attempted to unlawfully enter the residence to talk to the president about the Gospel and marry his granddaughter.
