WhatsApp rolls out important update: What's new
WhatsApp has announced an update for its calls on both mobile and desktop platforms. Now, users will be able to select specific participants during a group call, avoiding disturbing the entire group. This feature will be useful for organizing surprises or private discussions in large groups.
The update also introduces ten new video effects to make calls more engaging, ranging from filters with puppy ears to underwater themes and karaoke effects.
In addition, WhatsApp reports that desktop users will receive an updated call interface, which will simplify the process of starting conversations, creating call links, or dialing numbers directly from the desktop app.
Lastly, Meta has improved the quality of video calls, both for personal and group calls, regardless of the device being used - whether desktop or mobile.
