What to expect from iOS 19: New features, release date, and latest rumors

Believe it or not, only three months are left before iOS 19 is announced. In anticipation of this event, rumors about new features of the upcoming update, supported devices, and much more have begun to appear, states 9to5Mac.
Will your iPhone support iOS 19
Every year, one of the most important questions is which iPhone models will be able to upgrade to the new version of iOS. The good news for iPhone users in 2025 is that all devices that support iOS 18 will be able to update to iOS 19. According to sources, the complete list of all devices looks like this:

However, it's important to note that not all iOS 19 features will be available on all iPhone models. Some of the most resource-intensive features, such as Apple Intelligence, will be limited to the latest iPhone models.
Features of iOS 19
Changes in Siri (partially)
According to Bloomberg, Apple is working on fundamental changes in Siri as part of iOS 19. Currently, Siri is divided into two systems: one manages traditional commands such as timers and alarms, and the other manages more complex actions. The latter will also handle new AI features, such as personalized context and actions in apps, which will be available in iOS 18.
In iOS 19, Apple plans to combine these two systems. This should improve performance and speed up Siri's responses to different types of queries.
Apple faced difficulties in implementing other major changes in Siri for iOS 19. Initially, it was reported that the company planned to introduce a new version of Siri with a "conversational" interface more similar to human interaction. However, this update is behind schedule and will not be announced at WWDC in June.
Currently, iOS 18 offers integration with ChatGPT as part of Siri and Apple Intelligence. Apple's goal with iOS 19 is to bring this functionality in-house and emphasize the privacy advantages of its platform over OpenAI ChatGPT.
Camera app redesign
In addition to Apple Intelligence and Siri, Apple is reportedly planning a redesign of the Camera app as part of iOS 19. The new Camera app will have a design that "reflects the visionOS design philosophy" with an emphasis on transparency.
Apple has reportedly simplified the controls at the bottom of the interface, reducing them to two switches for Photo and Video. Users will be able to switch between different modes within each menu, adjust parameters such as exposure, and much more.
At the top of the interface, users will have quick access to settings for features such as Live Photos, flash, and resolution and frame rate settings. In addition, there is a separate button for accessing the user's photo library.

Delays
Even though iOS 19 is coming up in June, Apple is still working on finalizing the features announced for iOS 18 last year. Some of the most impressive and powerful features of Apple Intelligence are still unreleased.
According to Bloomberg, the prolonged development of iOS 18 has resulted in "more features planned for iOS 19" being delayed until spring 2026. This is due to the fact that Apple engineers are still working on iOS 18 projects "when they would normally be working on the next update."
This means that iOS 19 may be released without a number of key features in September. The missing options will be added gradually in future updates.
iOS 19 release schedule
iOS 19 is likely to be announced at WWDC in June, after which it will be available for developer beta testing. The public beta of iOS 19 is expected to be released in July, with the general public release in September.
