What's hot this summer? Andre Tan shares top fashion trends for 2025

Famous Ukrainian designer Andre Tan shared the main fashion trends for summer 2025. The focus is on pastel shades, retro sneakers, tailored silhouettes, and animal prints. On the other hand, neon, skinny jeans, and oversized clothing are no longer in fashion, as the designer explained on Instagram.
Relevant: Pastel shades
Not relevant: Neon
Pastel colors always have a delicate and expensive look. They gently highlight a tan and go well with everything.
"And neon... its era is left somewhere in 2019. It’s hard to style, it’s harsh on the eyes, and it quickly becomes tiresome," noted Andre Tan.

Relevant: Retro sneakers or minimalism
Not relevant: Chunky sneakers
Light retro-style or minimalist sneakers easily pair with shorts, dresses, and jeans.
As for chunky sneakers, it’s better to leave them on the shelves. In 2025, minimalism and elegance are in style!

Relevant: Flared jeans and pants
Not relevant: Skinny jeans
Medium or high-waisted flared jeans make the legs look longer and add movement to the look. They work great with heels or without.
"Skinny jeans are definitely no. They cling too much to the figure and are long out of trend," Tan emphasized.

Relevant: Tailored silhouettes
Not relevant: Oversized
Emphasis on the waist and light volume is both feminine and modern. Coats, jackets, and tailored dresses accentuate the figure.
Huge shoulders and baggy clothes that hide your shape are best avoided.

Relevant: One item or accessory with animal print
Not relevant: A full look with animal prints
Snake, zebra, or cow prints look stylish as an accent in an outfit. But if the outfit consists of a dress, shoes, and a bag all in leopard print, that’s overkill.
"One accent is yes, a full look is definitely no," Tan concluded.

What to do with clothes that are no longer in fashion
Trends change every season, but that doesn’t mean you should immediately throw out everything that’s no longer in the height of popularity. Here are a few smart options.
Review your wardrobe and keep the basics
Even out-of-trend items can still be valuable as basic or universal pieces. For example, if an oversized coat fits you well, keep it and pair it with new accents.
Rework or update items
Skinny jeans can be shortened into shorts. A large coat can be altered at a workshop. Add a fashionable belt or accessory, and the item will look new again.
Pass items on
If clothes and shoes are in good condition, give them to relatives, a friend, or donate them. Many foundations in Ukraine accept clothes for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and low-income individuals.
Recycle the items
Some brands (like H&M, VOVK) accept clothes for recycling. This way, you can reduce "fashion" waste and support conscious consumption.
