We have tools to strike enemy where they least expect it - Commander of Air Force
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has the tools and capabilities to strike the enemy where it does not expect it, states the commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykola Oleshchuk.
"The Air Force is doing everything to get the enemy both in the sky and on the ground. You are reading our reports. Many Russian planes, along with their crews, will never be able to terrorize our people again. They are destroyed. We are gaining more and more tools and capabilities to strike the enemy where it least expects it," noted Oleshchuk.
According to him, on January 24, Russian propaganda directed a fake information flow to the external audience, trying to discredit Ukraine in the eyes of the world community.
"The goal is obvious – they want to diminish international support for our state. It won't work! Ukraine has the right to defend itself and destroy the means of air aggression by the aggressor," he added.
The commander of the Air Force also mentioned that the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled another Shahed attack, and the results of the operation will be reported later.
Сrash of the Il-76 in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation
Yesterday, on January 24, it became known that a military transport plane Il-76 crashed in the Korocha district of the Belgorod region. Sources from RBC-Ukraine report that the aircraft was carrying missiles for the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system.
At the same time, Russia claims that allegedly there were 65 prisoners on board the plane, along with 6 crew members and 3 escorts. Russians accuse Ukraine of shooting down the aircraft. In Ukraine, there has been a reaction to the statements of the Russians, and Ukrainians have been urged not to spread fake information until official statements are made.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy later stated that Russians are playing with the lives of Ukrainian prisoners, with the feelings of their families, and with the emotions of our society. He also emphasized the need to establish all clear facts as much as possible, considering that the plane crash occurred on Russian territory.
