Waiting for situation to stabilize: Zelenskyy on Pokrovsk frontline sector
Over the past few days, the situation in the Pokrovsk sector has improved. However, we need to wait for stabilization, states Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
According to him, the situation in the Pokrovsk direction is difficult in any case. However, in the last three or four days it has become better than it was before.
“I am grateful to the soldiers, and before I left (for the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defense held in Germany and the Ambrosetti Forum in Italy - ed.), the situation had been better for about three to four days,” the president said.
Zelenskyy noted that he had discussed all the details several times with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. However, he does not want to say in advance when the situation will stabilize.
“We discussed all these details three times with Syrskyi, so I don't want to talk ahead of time. When everything stabilizes there, God help us, then we will talk," the Ukrainian president summarized.
The Pokrovsk sector has been the site of the largest number of hostilities lately. In particular, yesterday evening, August 6, as of 22:00, 165 combat engagements took place at the front since the beginning of the day, 45 of which were in the Pokrovsk sector.
