Violence in Selydove: Russian troops execute local citizens, investigation begins
In Selydove, Donetsk region, Russian troops shot local residents. Prosecutors have launched an investigation, according to the Office of the Prosecutor General.
On October 27, several Telegram channels published information about the killing of civilians by occupiers in Selydove.
"Footage published shows representatives of the aggressor state's forces allegedly firing automatic weapons at a civilian vehicle in the populated area. During the attack, two people were in the car, and one of them was injured," the Office said.
Afterward, Ukrainian Armed Forces arrived at the scene, pulled the injured person out of the line of fire, provided first aid, and evacuated civilians from the attack zone. The incident reportedly occurred on October 24.
Not a single incident
In addition, media reports state that the enemy shot two women in the city. Online sources also report that in a private sector area, largely untouched by active hostilities, there are bodies of deceased civilians.
"This indicates that these killings likely occurred after the enemy took control of these territories. Urgent investigative and search operations are currently underway to establish all circumstances of the events and identify the victims of the occupiers," prosecutors noted.
Under the procedural direction of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation is being conducted as part of a criminal case regarding violations of the laws and customs of war (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
