The fight between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and British Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight championship will not occur on February 17. The reason cited is an injury to the British boxer, according to the promotional company Queensberry Promotions, represented by Fury.

As mentioned by the promotional company, the British boxer sustained an injury during a sparring session in Riyadh. Fury suffered a cut to the eyebrow that required urgent medical attention and stitches.

Queensberry Promotions added that such an injury currently rules out any possibility of a fight with Usyk, which was scheduled for February 17 in Saudi Arabia.

"I am absolutely devastated after preparing for this fight for so long and being in such a superb condition. I feel bad for everyone involved in this huge event and I will work diligently towards the rescheduled date once the eye has healed," emphasized Fury.

He also apologized to his team and Usyk's team for the unforeseen circumstances.

Later, the British athlete posted on his Instagram, stating that Usyk had issues because he is "in fantastic shape." Fury promised to reschedule the fight "as soon as possible."
