Renowned Ukrainian promoter and head of K2 Promotions, Oleksandr Krasiuk, who managed Oleksandr Usyk's career until this summer, spoke about the reasons for ending their cooperation and warned the champion about possible risks, reports World Boxing News.

On ending the cooperation

In an interview, Krasiuk explained how he ended his cooperation with Usyk a few weeks before the fight against Daniel Dubois.

"I felt the momentum. That was the right time to go. I wished Usyk to become the triple undisputed and told that I would stay the lifetime promoter of the two-time undisputed," Krasiuk shared.

When asked to provide more details, the promoter replied:

"I am going to, but I will leave that for my memoirs."

Advice for Usyk

Krasiuk also stated that he would advise the boxer to end his career. He noted that Usyk had already achieved everything possible in professional sports, so it was time to stop.

"I don't see him fighting anymore, at least in boxing. He has proved it all, there's nothing more to gain," Krasiuk said with confidence.

The former manager suggested that there may be people who will try to persuade Usyk to continue his career, but assured that, as a friend, he would do everything to stop him.

"For sure, there're going to be some dossers around pushing him to the ring again. As a friend, I will do my best to convince him to retire," he added.

Usyk and Krasiuk's cooperation

The boxer and promoter began working together in 2013, when Usyk transitioned from amateur to professional boxing.

Over those 12 years, Usyk had 23 fights, never lost, and became a two-time undisputed world champion in two weight classes.

Usyk's main achievements during their partnership:

  • September 2016, WBO world champion in the cruiserweight division
  • January 2018, WBO and WBC world champion in cruiserweight
  • July 2018, undisputed cruiserweight world champion
  • September 2021, WBO, WBA, and IBF world champion in heavyweight
  • May 2024, undisputed heavyweight world champion

Without Krasiuk, Usyk won his latest fight by knocking out Daniel Dubois in the fifth round and became a three-time undisputed world champion.

Previously, the boxer repeatedly stated that after the fight with Dubois, he planned to have two more fights and then retire.
