On July 19, 2025, at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London, a rematch for the WBA, WBO, and IBF championship belts will take place between Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk and British fighter Daniel Dubois. Yesterday, Usyk appeared in public wearing a stylish outfit full of symbolism. More details about this outfit were shared by Elvira Gasanova (Damirova), owner of the Damirli brand.

What suit did Oleksandr Usyk choose?

On July 14, world heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk unveiled the mosaic "Boryviter" at Trafalgar Square in London. He appeared at the event wearing a burgundy suit by the Ukrainian brand Damirli, featuring unique embroidery.

Today, on Ukrainian Statehood Day, designer Elvira Gasanova provided more details about the symbolism of Oleksandr Usyk's new look, the outfit he wore in public ahead of the rematch against Daniel Dubois.

"Usyk's look symbolizes unwavering strength and Ukrainian identity," Gasanova noted.

What does Oleksandr Usyk's burgundy suit mean?

According to the designer, this suit was specially created for Usyk.

"Yesterday in London, he first appeared in a burgundy suit with unique embroidery. Burgundy is the color of Cossack blood, dignity, and courage," she explained.

The trousers, Gasanova added, were inspired by traditional Ukrainian "sharovary" (baggy pants).

"This is a symbol of freedom of movement and defiance," emphasized the designer.

Symbolism of the embroidery on Usyk's suit

Particular attention is drawn to the platinum-colored embroidery adorned with stones. Its design was created upon Usyk's request.

"For him, the embroidery is not just decoration, but a national code and a sacred ornament that protects and gives strength," Gasanova emphasized.

The pattern features a grapevine, which is a symbol of fertility, the continuity of life, and the connection of generations, as well as geometric elements and a cross, which signifies balance and military discipline.

The leaves and flowers are meant to remind us that life energy does not disappear but sprouts again even in the darkest times.

"Each stitch of this embroidery is like the armor of a modern Cossack. It is a talisman that keeps him connected to his ancestors and the entire country," she explained.

The designer also noted that Usyk's look is not only about individuality but also about national unity.

"No victory is ever just personal. It is always for something greater," she added.

"This embroidery is a shield and a code. It speaks to the fact that each of us is a branch of a great tree. It is about life continuing, even when times are tough. And it's about the Cossack's strength not only in weaponry, but in the roots that keep him firmly grounded," concluded Elvira Gasanova.
