The undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk shared an interesting detail following his victory over Daniel Dubois. The Ukrainian boxer revealed that he gave a unique Cossack name to the very punch that knocked out the British fighter.

RBC-Ukraine reports how Usyk refers to his "weapon" and what proved decisive in the fight for all the belts.

What Usyk named his winning punch in the bout against Dubois

At the post-fight press conference, the Ukrainian champion explained that the punch was the result of thorough preparation.

"We had been preparing for this bout with my team. We studied the first fight, we worked on combinations. This punch is called "Ivan". Ivan is a strong Ukrainian man who lives in a village and works on a farm. A big man, like a Cossack," Usyk said, emphasizing the strength and Ukrainian spirit behind his "secret weapon."

The champion also clearly demonstrated how "Ivan" differs from a regular hook, making it clear that this punch is not just about power but also involves a special technique.

Oleksandr's gestures and humor amused the journalists present.

Usyk – Dubois: how the rematch unfolded

From the very first seconds of the fight, it was clear that Oleksandr was in excellent shape. Just 10 seconds into the bout, he landed a strong jab through Dubois’s defense. The British fighter also found his target with powerful right-hand punches and even managed to corner the Ukrainian by the end of the round.

With 13 seconds remaining in the second round, Usyk dodged a punch and responded with a hard left hook that Dubois felt.

The third round began with an aggressive attack from Dubois, but Usyk remained calm and composed. He perfectly timed his counterattacks as Dubois moved forward. Despite Dubois’s known strength, Usyk's punches noticeably wore him down.

In the fifth round, Usyk decided to pick up the pace. Nearly two years had passed since the most controversial moment in his career in Wrocław, but this time there were no doubts or appeals. Usyk ended the fight spectacularly.

He first sent Dubois down with a powerful right-hand punch. The 27-year-old "Dynamite" managed to get back on his feet, but it was clear the end was near. When Dubois tried to throw his final punch, Usyk once again perfectly timed a counterattack, landing a powerful left hook that knocked Dubois out.
