According to The Ring journalist Mike Coppinger, Usyk is seriously interested in fighting Benavidez in 2027.
The journalist said he had learned about Usyk’s interest in the bout just last week.

However, neither fighter’s team has officially confirmed any negotiations between Usyk and Benavidez.
Benavidez responds to potential Usyk fight
Benavidez is also interested in facing Usyk but says he has other options for his next fight.
The American boxer said he was actively working to make the bout happen. If he could not secure a fight with Jai Opetaia for Cinco de Mayo, he would pursue a bout with Usyk instead.
Benavidez has also left the door open to a potential fight with former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
The American remains undefeated as a professional and holds the WBA and WBO light heavyweight titles.
