US to send Ukraine another Patriot missile system - Associated Press
The US will send another Patriot missile system to Ukraine, according to the Associated Press.
The decision was made in response to Kyiv's calls for strengthening air defense as the country faces intense Russian advances in the northeastern part of the Kharkiv region.
Two American officials confirmed the information about the transfer of the missile system on condition of anonymity. According to them, US President Joe Biden approved this step.
This will be the second Patriot system that the US will transfer to Ukraine. However, the exact number of missiles for this system has not been announced.
Germany, together with its allies, is transferring 100 missiles for Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine. According to German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, 32 interceptors have already been transferred, and the remaining 68 will be provided in the coming weeks.
It was earlier reported that as of June 8, Ukraine had already received two decisions from partners regarding the supply of air defense assets.
