US Special Presidential Envoy reveals Melania Trump’s letter to Putin

US Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg reported on a letter that US First Lady Melania Trump sent to Russian leader Vladimir Putin, RBC-Ukraine correspondent reports.
Kellogg emphasized the importance of returning children who found themselves in the conflict zone.
In particular, the US Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine said that he had four grandchildren and that he did not want them to even hear about the next war. Kellogg added that he wanted none of them to know the realities of war, noting that most of his team already knew those realities.
According to the US high ranking official, Melania even wrote a letter to President Putin demanding the return of the children.
At the same time, the wife of the President of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, replied to Melania’s letter, stressing precisely that children must be brought back home.
Furthermore, Kellogg noted that adults had a duty to ensure that children grew up in normal conditions.
Deportation of Ukrainian children
The issue of the forced deportation of Ukrainian children after the start of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine has become one of the most high-profile humanitarian topics.
In March 2023, the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Rights Commissioner Maria Lvova-Belova. They are suspected of the illegal transfer and detention of Ukrainian children on the territory of Russia.
According to Ukrainian authorities, since February 2022, more than 19,500 children have been taken to Russia. Only a little over a thousand have been returned.
In addition, Melania Trump delivered a letter to Russian leader Vladimir Putin through her husband, Donald Trump. She called on Putin to protect the children.
