US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham passed away on the evening of July 11 following a brief and sudden illness, according to the Office of US Senator Lindsey Graham.
"On the evening of Saturday, July 11, US Senator Lindsey Graham passed away from a brief and sudden illness. Senator Graham’s family appreciates prayers at this time and asks for privacy during this incredibly difficult period," the senator’s office says.
According to media reports, police and medical personnel arrived at the home of the 71-year-old Graham, located in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, last night after receiving a call regarding a cardiac arrest.
Lindsey Graham has been a strong supporter of Ukraine in its war with Russia. He has consistently advocated for increased aid to Kyiv and tougher sanctions against Russia.
Just recently, the US senator visited the production facility for Ukrainian SkyFall drones. During the visit, he praised Ukraine’s domestic drone technology and its potential in the field of military development.
Earlier, Graham spoke about strengthening the defense capabilities of both the US and Ukraine. He stated that Ukraine and the US should cooperate in the field of drones, noting that this would be beneficial for both countries.
