The United States currently sees no indications that Russian President Vladimir Putin is willing to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine on terms other than his own, according to Matthew Miller, spokesperson for the US State Department.

"We have seen no indication from Vladimir Putin that he is willing to drop his demand to continue to gobble up Ukrainian territory. I'm sure there is a negotiation that Putin would accept where he gets everything that he wants, and Ukraine gets nothing that it is entitled to under the law (the UN Charter -ed.)," said Miller.

However, he noted that these are not negotiations in which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is interested, and he should not be.

Previously, the Ukrainian President's Office stated the main condition for starting negotiations with Russia would be the withdrawal of enemy troops to positions held before February 24, 2022, emphasizing that Ukraine opposes a frozen conflict.
