US presents strong peace plan, time for ending this war is now - US Secretary of State

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that the United States has presented a strong plan for peace in Ukraine. Rubio emphasized that the time has come to end the war, according to his post on the social network X.
In particular, Rubio's post was published after he held a phone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. According to the Secretary of State, during the conversation, he reiterated US President Donald Trump's message that the war in Ukraine must be brought to an end.
"I reiterated Trump's message: the death and destruction must stop. The US has presented a strong peace plan and we welcome the Prisoner of War exchange agreement reached in Istanbul. Let's not miss this huge opportunity. The time for ending this war is now," the statement says.
Earlier, an official report of the conversation was published on the US State Department's website.
"The United States is committed to achieving a lasting end to the Russia-Ukraine war. The comprehensive peace plan proposed by the United States outlines the best way forward," the website stated, citing the course of the talks.
Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs also commented on the conversation. The Russian side stated that the parties discussed the outcomes of the Russia-Ukraine negotiations in Istanbul. In addition, Lavrov confirmed Moscow's readiness to continue working with the US "in this context."
Other international and regional issues were also raised during the conversation, though no details were disclosed.
