Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth stated that US intelligence agencies are tracking all assistance received by Iran and passing the information to military commanders, according to CBS News.

Responding to a journalist’s question about whether Russia is providing Iran with intelligence on US positions and movements, the Pentagon chief said American intelligence is closely monitoring the situation.

"Well, we're trackin' everything. Our commanders are aware of everything. We have the best intelligence in the world. We're aware of who's talkin' to who, why they're talkin' to 'em, how accurate that information might be, how we factor that into our battle plans. So we know what's goin' on," Hegseth said.

According to him, US President Donald Trump is assessing and reducing all existing risks, so the American public can remain calm.

"Their commander-in-chief is well aware of who's talkin' to who. And anything that shouldn't be happening, whether it's in public or back-channeled, is being confronted and confronted strongly," he added.

Hegseth also said that Trump has "unique" relationships with many world leaders, which allow him to achieve results that other presidents could not.

Russia in the Middle East conflict

Earlier, Russia officially expressed support for Iran in its conflict with Israel and described the actions of Western countries in the situation as unfair.

Previously, Trump also commented on reports about possible Russian support for Iran amid the US-Israeli operation in the Middle East.

According to him, even if Russia is sharing some information with Iran, "they’re not doing a very good job, because Iran is not doing very well."
