US imposes new sanctions on Iran

The US Department of the Treasury has expanded sanctions against Iran. The measures are aimed at preventing the proliferation of nuclear weapons and support for terrorist organizations linked to Tehran, according to the US Treasury Department.
New individuals and entities have been added to the sanctions list under programs focused on countering weapons of mass destruction proliferation and the support of Iran-linked terrorist networks.
Sanctions target:
-
Individuals and vessels involved in the oil trade with the Houthis in Yemen
-
Oil logistics and transportation organizations (sea vessels)
-
Companies supplying equipment for missile production and other dual-use technologies
The Treasury also announced updates and removals of certain entries from the sanctions list. These actions are part of a broader US strategy to pressure the Iranian regime and deter global terrorist activity.
The US recently expanded sanctions against Iran, targeting a network supplying fuel for Iranian missiles.
