According to the health ministry controlled by Hamas, at least 93 people have been killed or are missing following an Israeli airstrike on the city of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza. The US has condemned the attack as horrifying, reports BBC.

The Israeli military stated that they are aware of reports that civilians were harmed today, Tuesday, in the Beit Lahia area. They added that details of the incident are being investigated.

US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller expressed that the US is deeply concerned by the loss of civilian life in this incident. He called it a horrifying incident with a horrifying result.

Miller also pointed to reports of two dozen children killed as a result of the attack. He emphasized that the tragic cost to civilians due to the recent strike is yet another reminder of why we need to end this war.

According to Axios, the CIA Director recently discussed with Israeli and Qatari colleagues a new formulation of an agreement for a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering a plan to halt the supply of humanitarian aid to the northern part of Gaza. This strategy aims to starve Hamas militants into submission.
