Ahead of the meeting of the Contact Group on Assistance to Ukraine, which will be held in Germany, an American delegation arrived in Kyiv. The delegation was led by Winfield Swanton, Director for Ukraine at the US National Security Council, according to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

As noted by the Ministry of Defense, one of the main topics of the meeting was the discussion of the results of US assistance to Ukraine in 2024, as well as planning cooperation between the ministries of defense for 2025.

Priority objectives for Ukraine in 2025 were identified, including strengthening the Defense Forces along the frontline, improving unit combat readiness, enhancing the protection of Ukrainian airspace, and developing the defense industry.

"Special attention was paid to further US assistance regarding specific types of weapons and ammunition. Positions were also synchronized concerning Ukraine's needs and American capabilities," the Ministry of Defense stated.
