The embassies of the US and UK in Russia have warned of a terrorist threat in Moscow in the next 48 hours, according to the embassy's website.
"The Embassy is monitoring reports that extremists have imminent plans to target large gatherings in Moscow, to include concerts, and US citizens should be advised to avoid large gatherings over the next 48 hours," the embassy's website said.
US citizens are also advised to avoid crowds in Moscow, monitor local media reports, and be aware of their surroundings. The British Embassy in Moscow has issued a similar warning.
