Ukraine has recently received a number of signals from the United States regarding proposals for an agreement to end the war, but has not participated in discussions on the details of the peace plan, Reuters reports.
A senior Ukrainian official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the agency that Kyiv had received signals about a number of US proposals to end the war, which Washington had discussed with Russia.
At the same time, it is emphasized that Ukraine did not participate in the preparation of these proposals, which have allegedly already been discussed by the US and Russia.
Background
Earlier, sources in the White House told Politico that a framework agreement to end Russia's war against Ukraine could be agreed upon in the near future.
US President Donald Trump's team held talks with Moscow without the participation of the European Union and Ukraine. The White House intends to present the results of the talks to Kyiv as a final and accepted decision.
The Trump administration is secretly consulting with Russia to develop a new plan to end the war in Ukraine. It will consist of 28 points.
According to Axios, the 28-point US plan is inspired by US President Donald Trump's successful efforts to reach a peace agreement on Gaza. At the same time, the agency writes that it is still unclear how the plan addresses such a complex issue as territory.
According to an American official, Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff is leading the development of the plan. He has already discussed it with Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev.
An American official confirms that the White House has begun to inform not only Ukrainian but also European officials about the new plan. At the same time, the Trump administration believes that there is a real chance to win over Ukraine and Europe, and that the plan will be adapted based on proposals from various parties.
