US and German defense ministers to discuss aid to Ukraine
On Wednesday, June 28, the US Minister of Defense, Lloyd Austin, is set to meet with his German counterpart, Boris Pistorius. This meeting was announced by General Patrick Ryder, the spokesperson for the US Department of Defense.
"Tomorrow, Minister Austin will welcome German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius for a bilateral meeting here at the Pentagon," said Ryder.
He added that the discussions will include Germany's assistance in bolstering NATO's eastern flank and providing "significant support" in the realm of security for Ukraine.
New military package from the US
The United States of America (USA) announced on June 27 the 41st military assistance package for Ukraine, estimated at $500 million.
The package includes ammunition for Patriot air defense systems, Stinger MANPADS, additional ammunition for HIMARS, 155mm and 105mm shells, 25 Stryker armored transport vehicles, 30 Bradley infantry fighting vehicles, and much more.
