It's easy to make mistakes when applying facial cream, and everyone does it every day.

An American dermatologist Dr. Adel has identified a common mistake that leads to skin problems.

Why it's important to apply cream

Moisturizing is one of the most crucial steps in any skincare routine. It plays a vital role in preventing water loss and maintaining skin elasticity.

Additionally, it can help create a barrier that protects the skin from irritants and pollutants.

Regular use of products containing hyaluronic acid ensures active hydration. This, in turn, prevents the early onset of wrinkles and reduces the visibility of existing ones.

Daily moisturizing of the facial skin supports the restoration and strengthening of the protective hydrolipid barrier. This skin layer neutralizes the harmful effects of various external and internal factors.

Mistakes to avoid when applying cream

The dermatologist explained that it's better to apply cream on damp skin, as this significantly enhances absorption.

The expert also emphasized that technique matters. She recommends applying the product "in the direction of hair growth," as applying it in the opposite direction can clog hair follicles, potentially leading to breakouts.

Additionally, Dr. Adel advises against dipping fingers into the jar of moisturizer. Instead, she suggests using a special spoon to scoop out the product.

This practice helps prevent bacteria from contaminating the moisturizer, which can worsen issues like acne or eczema.
