A major fire in Mykolaiv has been extinguished following a Russian drone strike the previous day. Emergency services have clarified the aftermath of the attack and released photos from the scene, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

Emergency responders reported that on the evening of April 17, the Russians attacked Mykolaiv using a “drone of an unidentified type.”

As a result of the Russian strike, warehouses storing household goods belonging to a private enterprise caught fire.

Due to a large quantity of flammable materials, the fire spread across an area of 700 square meters. Fifty rescuers and nine pieces of equipment were deployed to extinguish it,” the State Emergency Service stated.

Despite the challenging conditions, the fire was successfully extinguished, the SES added.

There were no casualties or injuries reported.

Additionally, photos of the aftermath of the drone strike on Mykolaiv were released by the SES.

As previously reported, an explosion occurred in Mykolaiv in the evening amid an ongoing threat of drone attacks.

Local authorities stated that a strike was carried out by a jet-powered UAV of an unidentified type, and reported a fire resulting from the attack.

According to preliminary information from the regional military administration, there were no casualties. Emergency services were deployed to the impact site and responded accordingly.
