Russia strikes Mykolaiv with unidentified drone: Fire breaks out in city

The Russian army struck the city of Mykolaiv on the evening of Thursday, April 17. The attack was carried out by an unidentified drone, according to the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim.
"An impact by a jet-powered UAV of unknown type. Preliminary reports indicate no casualties. There is a fire at the scene, and emergency services are working to extinguish it," Kim reported.
According to Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, all necessary services are operating at the site of the strike.
"Preliminarily – no casualties. The residential area was not damaged. Friends, take care of yourselves and don’t ignore air raid alerts," he said.
Attacks on Ukraine
Recently, the Russian army has increased its attacks on Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.
Some of the most tragic incidents include the strikes on Kryvyi Rih and the city of Sumy.
On Friday, April 4, Kryvyi Rih was hit by Russian forces. The Russian forces attacked the city with a ballistic missile, and a few hours later, launched drone strikes. According to the latest reports, 19 people were killed and another 68 were injured.
On April 13, Palm Sunday, the Russian army launched two ballistic missiles at Sumy. The missiles exploded in the city center, where many civilians were present.
