Ukrainian woman injured in terrorist attack at Christmas market in Germany
A car drove into a crowd of people at a Christmas market in the German city of Magdeburg. A Ukrainian citizen was injured in the attack, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.
According to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, a Ukrainian citizen born in 1972 is among the victims of the attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg.
“She is in a serious condition in a German clinic. The Embassy of Ukraine in Germany and our consuls are in touch with the clinic and are providing the necessary assistance. We hope for a speedy recovery of our citizen,” the statement said.
What happened before
Last night in the German city of Magdeburg, a car drove into a crowd of people at a Christmas market. The incident left many people injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the car drove right into the crowd in the direction of the Magdeburg City Hall.
It was later reported that more than 10 people were killed in the attack. However, later, the media reported that five people were killed and more than 200 people were injured.
According to Reuters, the dead include a nine-year-old child and four adults, and approximately 41 of the injured have serious or critical injuries.
Germany is also already investigating the detained driver, a 50-year-old psychiatrist who is a Saudi citizen. The man arrested at the scene has been living in Germany for almost 20 years.
