There are reports on social media about the alleged encirclement of Defense Forces units in the area of the Uspenivka and Trudove settlements near Kurakhove. Ukraine's Armed Forces have denied this information, the Khortytsia unit reports.

What preceded this

The DeepState service reported that Russian occupation forces had captured the settlements of Trudove and Uspenivka in the Donetsk region.

"The enemy has occupied Trudove and Uspenivka, taking the last patch of the infamous 'Uspenivsky pocket.' Unfortunately, not everyone managed to escape, and let this be on the conscience of those responsible for this mistake until the end of their days," the statement says.

Analysts stated that the occupiers are regrouping in the area they control and have intensified their efforts on the flanks of the new potential "pocket."

What Ukraine's Armed Forces say

The Operational and Strategic Group of Forces Khortytsia, responsible for the Kurakhove direction, denies the information that certain units of the Ukrainian army are in operational encirclement near the settlements of Uspenivka and Trudove.

"This information is false. The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces decided to withdraw units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces from the relevant area to avoid encirclement," the Ukrainian Armed Forces state.

The Operational and Strategic Group of Forces emphasizes that the military units, engaged in prolonged heavy defensive battles with superior enemy forces, carried out the necessary maneuvers to avoid encirclement and continue operational tasks on the Kurakhove – Konstantinopolske line.
