Ukrainian troops showcase newly acquired Swedish PBV 30 armored vehicles in action
Ukrainian soldiers have received PBV 30 tracked armored personnel carriers (APCs), which were provided by Sweden, according to the Strategic Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message states, "The 'Arsenal of Democracy' in the Armed Forces of Ukraine has been replenished with Swedish APCs PBV 30, as partners announced back in May of this year."
The armored vehicle is capable of traversing difficult terrain, including soft and loose soils, swamps, and sands, and overcoming water obstacles.
Ukrainian military personnel noted that they have tested the PBV 30 and responded positively about the Swedish armored personnel carriers.
It is worth mentioning that the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense officially approved the delivery of the Swedish armored personnel carrier PBV 30 to the Armed Forces in August. The APC is armed with an aviation gun.
The PBV 30 is an armored vehicle built on a tracked chassis, developed by Hägglund & Söner in the early 1960s. The APC was in service with the Swedish army until 2014 and was used in combat operations in Bosnia and Kosovo.
The vehicle features a diesel engine with a power output of 270 horsepower, allowing it to reach over 60 kilometers per hour.
