Teachers from all over Ukraine gathered in Kyiv to learn about Ukrainian Christmas traditions. Afterward, each teacher will organize a Christmas celebration at their school. This was reported on the page of the educational project “Know Your Ukraine.”
During a two-day course, participants learned about the symbols of the winter cycle of Ukrainian holidays.

In particular, they created Christmas decorations with their own hands - a caroling star, a didukh, and "pavuk". Learned little-known authentic carols with Iryna Danyleiko and the children's folk group "Oreli" and familiarized themselves with a unique collection of winter clothing from the Ivan Honchar Museum. They also attended a master class on making Christmas kutia according to the family tradition of Petro Gonchar and Tonya Matvienko. In addition, educators received practical advice on celebrating Christmas in their local communities.

"We want Ukrainian culture to be known and loved throughout the country. We need to teach, explain, and show the beauty of Ukrainian culture. This is the only way to lay the foundation for true national unity based on culture, traditions, and language. Because this is what unites Ukrainians, even when we are separated by thousands of kilometers. It is culture that keeps us together. And teachers play a key role in this," said Gnat Korobko, one of the co-authors and patrons of the project.

The event was organized by the Ivan Honchar Museum, the "Kolo" Charitable Foundation, the educational project “Know Your Ukraine,” and Ukrainian businessman and patron Gnat Korobko.
As previously reported, Gnat Korobko, with associates, provided the Ukrainian translation and publication of the book "From 'The Ukraine' to Ukraine", created by the Kennan Institute.
