Ukraine's Special Operations Forces destroyed a part of the Russian army's firing squad. It was these Russians who executed Ukrainian soldiers the day before, according to the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Background

According to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Russian troops executed 2 members of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine whom they had captured a few days earlier in one of the areas.

After that, a unit of the Special Operations Forces carefully planned an operation to destroy this enemy group and return the bodies of the Ukrainian military.

Special Operations Forces's operation

During the operation itself, the SOF fighters destroyed part of the firing squad and forced the rest to surrender. The captured Russians were marines from the 40th Arctic Brigade. During interrogation, they confessed that they had captured 2 members of Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces and reported it to their company commander.

The company commander then ordered the Russians to execute the Ukrainian soldiers over the radio. Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces fighters heard this and ran away, but Russian soldiers with call signs Yary, Lebed, Boom, and Bielyi immediately opened fire on them.

The latter 3 were killed by the Ukraine's Special Operations Forces operators during special operations, but Yary and two others were captured. They are already testifying. All the prisoners were contractors who had been serving in the Russian army for only a month and a half.

A few days ago, Ukraine returned 25 more of its citizens from Russian captivity. Later, it became known that Ukraine was able to come up with a separate format for the exchange of prisoners, under which people with serious injuries and diseases are released as a priority.

Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region captured 27 Russian troops. Among them are, in particular, officers.
