Ukrainian partisans from the Atesh movement scouted the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant near Moscow, which manufactures air defense systems for the Russian army, according to the Atesh Telegram channel.
"Our agents studied the Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant - one of the leading enterprises supplying the Russian army with tracked vehicles. This is where the chassis for the Buk-M1-2, Tor-M1, and Tunguska-M1 air defense systems are manufactured," Atesh stated.
The report notes that the plant has a well-developed production base, including mechanical assembly shops, thermogalvanic workshops, and material processing facilities. The enterprise is part of the Kalashnikov Concern JSC and operates to meet the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
Agents managed to obtain information about the workshops, production workload, and employees involved in defense contracts. All this information has already been handed over to Ukraine's Defense Forces.
Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant
The Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant is one of Russia's leading enterprises in the field of transport engineering. Until 2009, the plant was part of a railcar manufacturing company.
The Mytishchi Machine-Building Plant was founded back in 1897. In 2016, control of the enterprise passed to the Kalashnikov Concern, which acquired 100% of the plant's shares.
Since September 17, 2014, the enterprise has been on the US and Canadian sanctions lists. In 2021, it was also included in Ukraine's sanctions list. In addition, on May 19, 2023, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the plant was placed under US blocking sanctions "for its involvement in Russia's enhanced efforts to develop weapons and related systems."
Russia builds new air defense ring around Moscow
Earlier, reports indicated that the Russians are trying to strengthen their air defense system amid regular drone attacks on targets in Moscow and the Moscow region. To do this, dozens of new air defense positions are being constructed.
The new air defense positions are being constructed along the Central Ring Road and the Small Concrete Ring that runs parallel to it, both circular highways located roughly 50 kilometers from Moscow.
