Ukrainian paratroopers neutralize Russian MT-LB and capture six Russians
Ukrainian paratroopers shot down a Russian MT-LB (multi-purpose tracked armored fighting vehicle) with a grenade launcher and captured the occupiers. The operation was conducted in the Vovchansk direction, the Air Assault Forces (AAF) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine report.
"The enemy tried to break through using armored vehicles, but one of the ranger-paratroopers disabled the Russian MT-LB with a grenade launcher," the statement reads.
The paratroopers noted that the surviving Russians dismounted and began storming the building where soldiers of the 71st Separate Jaeger Brigade of the AAF of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were holding the defense.
"The rangers called for reinforcements and engaged in a battle that lasted about three hours," the AAF noted.
With support from the assault group of a friendly unit, the paratroopers cleared the building and captured six Russian occupiers.

Situation on the front
In the past 24 hours, 174 combat clashes were recorded on the front. Russians continue to push near Pokrovsk, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, and other areas.
In particular, the Russians are making maximum efforts to encircle Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region. The occupiers are attempting to approach the outskirts of the city.
It is worth noting that on January 17, some media outlets and social networks disseminated information that Russian occupiers had allegedly entered Pokrovsk. However, this information is not true.
