On the night of November 7, the missile forces, using Neptune coastal missile systems, struck the Proton-Eleсtrotex facility, part of the Russian defense-industrial complex, in Oryol, Oryol region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of the strikes, hits on the target were confirmed; a fire broke out on the facility’s grounds, and explosions were heard. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

JSC Proton-Electrotex is a leading Russian manufacturer of optoelectronic equipment and devices with a full production cycle. The company’s products include modules for Kover cruise missiles and switch-inverters for 9M723 ballistic missiles used in the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system, among others.

The strike on the facility complicates the production of components for cruise and ballistic missiles, which the Russian military is using to strike Ukrainian cities.

On the night of November 7, the Russian city of Oryol came under a missile strike. Preliminary reports indicate that the strike hit the area around the Proton factories, which manufacture components for the Iskander-M and Pantsir-S1 systems.

Following a drone attack, a fire broke out at Rosneft’s Saratov oil refinery. Sirens sounded at least twice in the city, and eyewitnesses reported flashes of light and explosions.
