Ukrainian National Guard involved in snow storm rescue efforts in Odesa
National Guard servicemen have been deployed to deal with the aftermath of a snow storm and severe weather in Odesa and the region. They are actively involved in rescuing those affected, according to the National Guard of Ukraine.
"To assist the State Emergency Service in eliminating the consequences of the natural disaster on the roads of the city of Odesa and the Odesa region, 29 military personnel from the units subordinate to the South Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard have been involved," the report states.

Military equipment is being used by the National Guard to clear snowdrifts, tow stranded vehicles, and evacuate citizens. As of now, the National Guard has evacuated 225 people and 23 pieces of equipment, with restrictions on movement lifted on sections of state highways in the Odesa region as of 6:00 AM.

Severe weather in the Odesa region on November 26 led to the partial or complete closure of several roads. Reports indicate power outages in many settlements, fallen trees, and nearly 50 accidents in the region within a few hours. Heating was suspended in the Odesa region due to the storm, while Odesa suffered water supply disruptions. Meanwhile, a real hurricane unleashed in the southern part of the region. The consequences of the weather are still being addressed, with rescuers even having to deploy armored personnel carriers.
