Ukrainian military shoots down Su-25 in Donetsk region
Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft in the skies over the Donetsk region today, states President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"I would like to especially note the soldiers from the 110th separate mechanized brigade for shooting down another Russian Su-25 in the Donetsk region today. Well done, guys," the Head of State said in his evening video address.
The Su-25 is a Soviet-era subsonic attack aircraft designed to support ground forces and destroy targets. Such attack aircraft are equipped with aircraft guns, air bombs, unguided air-to-ground missiles, and guided air-to-air missiles.
According to publicly available data, the estimated cost of one Su-25 is $11 million.
Last night, Russian troops attacked Ukraine from the air. The occupiers launched 13 Shahed attack drones and four S-300 missiles. All enemy drones were shot down by the Ukrainian Air Force.
