The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhii Tykhyi stated that Fox News showed Kyiv as part of Russia during the Easter broadcast. Ukraine demands an official apology for this mistake.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is calling on the American TV channel Fox News to apologize for the incident during which Kyiv was marked as part of Russia on air.

The scandalous situation occurred during the broadcast of the Easter service, when the caption appeared: "Easter Service: Kyiv, Russia."

"If this was a mistake rather than a deliberate political statement, there should be an apology and an investigation into who made the mistake," commented Tykhyi on the incident.

We recall that the Fox News channel broadcasted Easter services both from Moscow and from Kyiv. Initially, the captions read: "Kyiv, Ukraine," but after a break, they were changed to "Kyiv, Russia," sparking a wave of outrage among Ukrainians.

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill, was given airtime to deliver an address to Russians, in which he called for the "unity of historical Rus' and peace," which he believed should encompass the lands that received "grace in the Kyiv baptismal font."

Urgent and vital messages about Russia’s war against Ukraine can be read on the RBC-Ukraine Telegram channel.
