A Ukrainian man has been detained in Monaco following the death of 29-year-old Antoine de Massy, the grandson of Princess Antoinette. He is suspected of involuntary manslaughter and failure to provide assistance, Le Figaro reports.

According to the outlet, Antoine de Massy's body was found on a platform in the Larvotto area near the sea.

An autopsy found that the cause of death was a fall from a height of 13 meters from Larvotto Boulevard onto the central reservation.

According to sources, the previous evening, the victim had been seen near a nightclub, staggering and leaning on a man as he left.

The Prince's Palace expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy.

Law enforcement officers detained a 42-year-old Ukrainian citizen who has lived in the principality for 30 years.

He has been formally charged with involuntary manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger.

During questioning, the suspect categorically denied any involvement in the crime and is currently refusing to answer questions from the investigating judge.

The judicial investigation is expected to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the fall and death of a member of Monaco's princely family.

It should be noted that this is not the first high-profile incident involving Ukrainians in Monaco.

Previously, law enforcement authorities investigated the murder of Anastasiia Berezovska and the attempted assassination of businessman Vadym Yermolaiev, in which a military intelligence officer and a former Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) employee were suspected of involvement.
