In the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, a large Russian landing ship Yamal was attacked on March 23. The damage to the vessel is critical, according to the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine.

Thus, on March 23, a successful fire attack on the facilities of the Russian Black Sea Fleet took place in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"In particular, the 13th shipyard of the Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol was attacked, where, among other things, a large enemy landing ship Yamal was moored," the statement says.

According to Ukraine's military intelligence, the damage to the Yamal is critical - a hole in the upper deck caused the ship to roll to starboard.

"The occupiers are continuously pumping water out of the damaged ship, which took part in the annexation of Crimea and was undergoing repairs from 2017 to 2023," the intelligence notes.

Strikes in Crimea

On March 23, there were explosions in the temporarily occupied Crimea, particularly in Sevastopol. OSINT analysts noted that a large communication hub of the Russian Black Sea Fleet could have been hit in Sevastopol.

On March 24, Russian Telegram channels reported that a "well-camouflaged command post with more than two dozen officers in it was hit in Sevastopol."

Later that day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had struck at the Russian occupiers' facilities in Sevastopol. Two Russian landing ships, Yamal and Azov, and a communications center were destroyed.
