Ukrainian Intelligence Chief supports Pope's call for 'all for all' prisoner exchange
The Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, in an interview with the German TV channel ARD, supported Pope Francis' initiative regarding exchanging prisoners according to the "all for all" formula. However, he pointed out an important aspect.
"I fully support this. Let's do it. There is just one little thing left - to convince Russia," he said.
At the moment, the head of the Directorate of Intelligence does not see interest from the Russian side in such action.
Budanov also informed that the central mediator in exchanging prisoners of war is no longer Turkey but the United Arab Emirates.
Exchange of prisoners "all for all"
At the end of March, during Holy Mass in Vatican City, Pope Francis called on Russia and Ukraine to exchange prisoners of war according to the "all for all" formula.
It is worth noting that about a year ago, Budanov stated that Ukraine was negotiating with Russia on exchanging prisoners in the "all for all" format and was "approaching this."
