Ukrainian forces strike Russian battalion in Zaporizhzhia region

The Armed Forces of Ukraine carried out a precision strike on the positions of the Russian 2nd Motorized Rifle Battalion in the Zaporizhzhia region. As a result, the enemy forces were eliminated, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.
On February 17, the Ukrainian Air Force conducted a precision strike on the positions of the 2nd Motorized Rifle Battalion of the 64th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade of the Russian army in Chumatske, the Zaporizhzhia region.
As a result of the operation, key enemy assets were destroyed, including the personnel deployment site, fortifications, as well as the drone launch platform used by the aggressor for military actions against Ukraine’s Defense Forces.
This strike is part of Ukraine’s ongoing efforts to reduce the enemy’s combat capabilities and eliminate the threats posed by occupation forces in Ukrainian territory.
"The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to systematically strike critical infrastructure of the occupying forces, depriving them of the ability to carry out military aggression on Ukrainian territory," the General Staff states.
Fighting in Zaporizhzhia region
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian forces are maintaining control over the situation in the Zaporizhzhia direction, where conditions have significantly improved.
Ukrainian President also noted that the most difficult situations are currently in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions, where the enemy has concentrated its main efforts. Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukrainian forces are aware of the areas where the enemy intends to launch a counteroffensive and where they are increasing troop numbers.
