Ukraine's Defense Forces managed to advance east of Oleksandrivka in the Donetsk region, according to a report from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

On October 7, Russian forces continued limited offensive operations in northern Sumy region, but had no confirmed gains, as Ukrainian forces conducted successful counterattacks.

In northeastern Kharkiv region, Russian troops infiltrated east of Vovchansk. Against the backdrop of recent developments, the Defense Forces struck Russian forces southeast of Khrypuniv following a likely Russian infiltration.

On October 6 and 7, Russian forces attacked near Kupiansk, Kivsharivka, and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi. No confirmed Russian advance was recorded, while Ukrainian forces conducted counterattacks north of Kupiansk.

According to a source associated with Russia's Western group of forces, Ukrainian forces control Novoplatonivka, Hrekivka, and Druzheliubivka, despite Russian claims that they had allegedly established control over these settlements.

In the Lyman area, Ukrainian forces continue counterattacks toward the eastern bank of the Zherebets River. Russian forces are attempting to contain Ukrainian gains as part of Operation Vivaldi.

A Kremlin-linked Russian military blogger claimed that Ukrainian forces continue counteroffensive operations along the Zherebets. According to him, the Ukrainian advantage in manpower and drones is preventing Russian forces from establishing positions near Lyman. These claims are consistent with ISW's previous reports about successful Ukrainian counterattacks in this area.

East of Kramatorsk, Russian forces also carried out an infiltration. Ukrainian forces subsequently struck Russian positions in the western part of Malynivka.

In the Dobropillia direction, Russian forces continued offensive operations on October 6 and 7, but made no confirmed territorial gains. Ukrainian forces meanwhile conducted counterattacks northeast of the city.

In the Huliaipole direction, Russian forces also attacked on October 6 and 7, but were unable to advance.

In western Zaporizhzhia region, Russian forces conducted limited offensive operations. These actions were likely part of attempts to bypass Orikhiv from the west and east. No confirmed Russian advance was recorded.

Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported on new successes by the Defense Forces in various areas of the front.
