The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has confirmed the liberation of Piatyhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region from the occupiers. Video footage of Ukrainian soldiers' operations has been shared online.

According to Valerii Zaluzhnyi, the soldiers of the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade from Zakarpattia liberated the settlement of Piatyhatky in the Zaporizhzhia region from Russian occupiers.

The liberation of Piatyhatky was also confirmed today by the Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Hanna Maliar.

Subsequently, Ukrainian servicemen shared videos from the liberated Piatyhatky, showing the soldiers from the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade and the 2nd Separate Infantry Battalion (2nd SIB) reporting that they expelled the occupiers from Piatyhatky on June 18.

According to the military personnel, the occupiers fled, abandoning equipment, ammunition, and weapons.

Initially, information about the occupiers' retreat from Piatyhatky was spread by Russian propaganda Telegram channels. The de-occupation has now been confirmed by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

Meanwhile, the aggressors complain that such offensive actions by Ukrainian soldiers will allow us to expand our foothold and advance towards Vasylivka.

The counteroffensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues

According to the Ministry of Defense, over the past week, the Defense Forces conducted an offensive in the directions of Berdiansk and Melitopol on the southern front.

So far, the liberation of the following settlements has been confirmed: Novodarivka, Levadne, Storozhove, Makarivka, Blahodatne, Lobkove, Neskuchne, and Piatyhatky.

Overall, during the offensive operations, the Defense Forces advanced approximately 7 km into enemy territory and liberated around 113 square kilometers.
