Ukrainian forces hold line near Ukraine's Kostiantynivka despite Russia's numerical advantage

Russian forces continue assaulting Ukrainian military positions in the Novopavlivka direction. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled enemy attempts to advance, according to the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Troops.
According to the grouping, the enemy tried to break through Ukrainian defenses near Kostiantynivka and Bahatyr.
"Units of the Defense Forces continue to hold back the pressure, destroying numerically superior enemy forces," the statement reads.
What is known about this direction
In early May, Ukraine’s General Staff reported that the enemy had intensified its offensive in several directions, including Novopavlivka. Russian forces attacked Ukrainian positions there 30 times.
We also reported that Ukrainian fighters repelled a Russian advance on the Novopavlivka direction. According to Ukraine’s Ground Forces, the attack was stopped by troops of the Separate Presidential Brigade and the 31st Separate Mechanized Brigade.
Earlier, Russian forces attempted to exploit poor weather conditions in the area. To breach Ukrainian defensive lines, the enemy launched an assault using three infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs), infantry troops, and numerous motorcycles.
Back in February, we reported that Russian troops continued to assault Ukrainian positions in this direction. As a result of the assaults and heavy fire, some Ukrainian positions were destroyed.
