Ukrainian forces have eliminated one of Russia's most advanced Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile systems, which is valued at $45 million, the Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Grouping of Ukrainian Troops reports.

"An enemy Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system was destroyed in one of the key directions," the Ukrainian military reported.

In particular, scouts from the Chornyi Lis Artillery Reconnaissance Brigade detected and adjusted fire onto the position of the enemy's latest medium-range Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system, along with its ammunition.

According to the Khortytsia Grouping, the enemy's air defense asset was identified while it was positioned to conduct a launch.

The Buk-M3 surface-to-air missile system is one of the key components of the enemy's air defense, which it uses to strike targets in the air, on the ground, and at sea.

Currently, the Buk-M3 is the most advanced version, with an interception range of up to 70 km. The estimated cost of such a system is $45 million.

Earlier this month, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces used strike drones to destroy a Russian Buk-M3 system that was covering enemy troops on land.

In addition, on May 1, Ukrainian scouts from the Chornyi Lis Brigade also eliminated a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system. Check out a video of the military operation in our news article.
