Ukrainian military personnel destroyed a rare Russian reconnaissance drone used to guide Iskander ballistic missiles, utilizing an interceptor drone, according to a report by NAUDI on Facebook.

"Operators of the 55th Separate Artillery Brigade Zaporizhzhia Sich destroyed a Russian fixed-wing reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicle, the Skat-450M, using the General Chereshnya BULLET universal interceptor," the statement read.

The Skat-450M is described as a rare Russian UAV designed for deep aerial reconnaissance, surveillance, and fire correction. Available information indicates it is also employed to guide Iskander operational-tactical missile systems.

According to estimates from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, only 10 to 20 such drones have been shot down since the start of the full-scale war. This makes the destruction of the Skat-450M a significant achievement in countering Russian intelligence capabilities.

Earlier, Ukrainian Minister of Defence Yevhen Khmara called for funding for interceptors designed to counter jet-powered Shahed drones during a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council.

He stated that funds are needed this autumn to allow manufacturers enough time to purchase components and produce the drones.

Meanwhile, operators of the Separate Artillery Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine shot down a jet-powered Geran-4 drone for the first time using the General Chereshnya Bullet interceptor.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, this Geran variant is equipped with a turbojet engine and is capable of reaching speeds of up to 500 km/h.
