Ukrainian forces capture elite Russian paratroopers in Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region (photos)

Near Chasiv Yar, Donetsk region, Ukrainian forces captured paratroopers from Russia's 98th Airborne Division, the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reports.
"This unit was once considered the elite of the Russian army. With experience in the imperialist wars in Ichkeria, Georgia, and Syria. But now its ranks are filled with untrained individuals with criminal backgrounds - people released from prisons and thrown into assaults. A human resource already written off," the Ukrainian military reported.
The captured soldiers themselves admitted they were exhausted, demoralized, and had no understanding of what they were fighting for.
How to surrender
Ukrainian forces also addressed the families of the Russian military:
"Your loved ones have preserved their lives. They are being held in proper conditions, receiving food and medical care. Tell your fellow citizens: Ukraine is not a place for 'reforming' Russians. No one is re-educated here. They are eliminated. And the only chance for those already at war is to surrender to Ukrainian captivity in order to stay alive and return home," says the caption under the photo.

Shortly before that, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces captured several dozen Russian marines in the Kursk region. Particularly, the troops from Russia's 810th Marine Brigade were taken prisoner on the very day Russia was celebrating Marine Corps Day.
