Ukrainian FM on Kellogg's visit: Putin paused attacks because he fears Trump

The pause in massive attacks on Kyiv during the visit of US presidential envoy Keith Kellogg proves that Russian leader Vladimir Putin is afraid of President Donald Trump, stated Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha during a joint briefing with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot.
Sybiha pointed out that no Russian attacks on Kyiv were recorded during Kellogg’s visit.
"This is further evidence of who Putin is really afraid of. Putin fears only Trump. He understands that only the United States of America can force them to peace," the minister emphasized.
He also added that Kellogg’s visit provided the US leadership with first-hand information about Russia’s war against Ukraine.
"Why is this important? Because we must also counter Russia’s narrative that it is winning. No, Russia is not winning, and Ukraine is not losing. It’s important to operate from that paradigm," the Foreign Minister explained.
Kellogg’s visit to Kyiv
On Monday, July 14, US Special Envoy to Ukraine Keith Kellogg arrived in Ukraine on an official visit.
He stayed in Kyiv for four days and held meetings with top Ukrainian officials, including President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During Kellogg’s visit, Ukrainians noticed that massive Shahed drone attacks on Kyiv had stopped. As President Zelenskyy noted, this may be due to the fact that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want to go to full escalation.
